Remembering Our Veterans This Friday

This Friday is Veterans Day and a time for us to thank those who have devoted and sacrificed their lives to protect the freedoms of our country.

Growing up in an U.S. Army household, graduating from West Point and serving as an Army Officer have taught me about the unique challenges faced by military families. Following my military service, I founded Milestone Consulting to continue my career in a service profession that helps families every day. Our team has since assisted thousands of families, including those affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Beirut Bombing of 1983 and more.

Milestone Giving Back EventThis week at Milestone, we’re gearing up for our “Salubration” party in on Friday in Buffalo, NY to give back and salute our veterans and military families. The event is Milestone’s way of thanking our clients for their trust and dedication to our company. For each RSVP card that has been returned to us – regardless of whether the invitee can attend the salubration – Milestone will make a $100 donation to Beirut Veterans of America (BVA), an organization dedicated to the soldiers and military families affected by the 1983 Marine barracks bombing in Beirut. BVA membership is open to military personnel who served in Lebanon and with supporting units at sea from June 1958 through March 1984.

Advocating for the soldiers and families affected by the Beirut bombing is a passion of mine and everyone at Milestone. Earlier this year, we received approval from the New York State Department of Financial Services to implement a plan to request certain insurance companies to waive commissions connected to the life insurance policy or annuity contract issued to the immediate family of these victims. Milestone will then donate the waived commissions to BVA. We’re proud to continue on this venture to help BVA and the families of soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Whatever plan to do on Friday, please join us in thanking the veterans in your life for their service to our nation.
