Congratulations to Aimee Wagstaff, Esq., recipient of the 2017 Young Innovator Award given by Mass Torts Made Perfect this week. The award exemplifies Aimee’s outstanding contributions to the field of law and her strides toward gender diversity in the legal community as founder of Women En Mass. It is also a testament to the ways Mass Torts Made Perfect is embracing diversity and moving toward being a more well-represented conference.
Aimee recently made history when Judge Kathryn H. Vratil appointed her to serve as National Co-Lead Counsel of In Re: Ethicon, Inc. Power Morcellator Products Liability Litigation. The Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (PSC) in the Ethicon multidistrict litigation (MDL) is comprised of mostly women — the first time in history.
Aimee founded Women En Mass (WEM) to bring together “… the best and brightest female mass tort attorneys to discuss issues that affect women—from the boardroom to the courtroom.” WEM holds an annual conference, and it also provides an ongoing network and support system for female attorneys throughout the year.
Mass Torts Made Perfect is a major bi-annual conference for those working in the practice area of plaintiff mass torts, personal injury litigation, and securities and toxic tort matters. Located in Las Vegas, the conferences are the largest plaintiff mass tort gatherings in the world and cover a variety of topics — from prescription drugs to investment fraud to business litigation and more. The spring 2017 conference runs from April 26 to 28, 2017 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
