As Co-Founder of the Bairs Foundation with my wife, Amy, I am proud to announce the formal launch of our nonprofit foundation’s website at BairsFoundation.org.
The Bairs Foundation provides a lending alternative for plaintiffs and their families who face a non-recourse loan industry offering a staggering 30 to 100 percent interest rates. In the name of the Seventh Amendment, our foundation will instead provide non-recourse funding to plaintiffs in need at seven percent simple interest annually.
It is our hope that our model will encourage and empower other civil justice-minded nonprofits to participate. In the end, our efforts may eradicate the injurious cost of capital plaintiffs experience in litigation when they are financially exhausted.
The Bairs Foundation will consider any client who needs funding, whether he or she is involved in mass tort litigation or an individual case.
A West Point graduate where he served as captain and military aviator, John Bair continues his commitment to our country through his efforts within the settlement planning industry. He has represented families of victims lost in the Flight 3407 crash, offered pro bono services to the families of 9/11 victims and drafted the first consumer protection bill for plaintiffs (H.R. 3699).
