You can renew your health plan for 2019 starting on November 16. Act between November 16 and no later than December 15, 2018 for coverage beginning January 1, 2019.
What to Do
On the New York State of Health’s Official Health Plan Marketplace, you can easily compare health insurance plan options. You can also apply for assistance that could lower the cost of your health coverage and see if you qualify for benefits through Medicaid or Child Health Plus.
If’s important to know that you’ll need to report certain changes in your life, such as:
- Family size
- Where you live
You’ll need to tell the Marketplace about the change when you renew. Go to nystateofhealth.ny.gov and log in to update your information, contact your in-person assister, or call 1-855-355-5777 and we’ll do it for you.
Check Your Mail
You received a renewal notice by mail or an email telling you to read the notice online. It explains:
- The health insurance programs you qualify for in 2019
- Your cost for coverage in 2019
- Actions you should take (if any) to renew your coverage for 2019 to avoid gaps in coverage
